Wine

Scorpo Wines Estate Pinot Gris is handpicked from the winery's Merricks North vineyard. The vines grow at 70-100 metres altitude on a north-north-east facing slope.

The fruit is whole bunch pressed and sent with full solids to seasoned French oak barrels. In some vintages a portion is transferred to concrete tanks. Fermentation is with wild yeasts.

After 10-12 months of maturation without lees stirring, the wine is bottled. There is no malolactic fermentation to preserve the wine's acidity.

Coppery yellow, Scorpo Wines Estate Pinot Gris has silky, unctuous texture, pear flavours and musky complexity. Cellaring potential is three years.
