Eden Valley Montepulciano
Wine
Rolf Binder Eden Valley Montepulciano was first produced in 2012. It draws from an Eden Valley vineyard where Montepulciano cuttings were grafted onto mature Riesling rootstock.
The variety originates from Abruzzo in east-central Italy, but the winemaking aims to capture Montepulciano in Barossa Valley style: fuller bodied than one would usually find in Italy. The wine predominantly matures in seasoned French oak.
Bright ruby purple, Rolf Binder Eden Valley Montepulciano is a vibrant, juicy wine with spicy dark fruit flavours, chalky tannins and a firm, dry finish. Cellaring potential is three years.
