The Pennant Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine
Robert Oatley The Pennant Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon is handpicked from the Justin Vineyard at Frankland River in Western Australia's Great Southern, planted in the 1970s.
The wine's name comes from a flag denoting achievement, reflecting the sailing accomplishments of the late Robert Oatley.
The berries are run down a sorting table into small vessels to soften and soak. Fermentation takes place on skins for up to six weeks. The wine ages for 18 months in new and one year old year French oak.
Only the best barrels are selected for the final blend. It is a limited release wine made in small quantities.
Dense crimson, Robert Oatley The Pennant Frankland River Cabernet Sauvignon has blackcurrant flavours, soft tannins and outstanding length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
