Generation Series Montepulciano d'Adelaide
Wine
Mr. Riggs Generation Series Montepulciano d'Adelaide is inspired by winemaker Ben Riggs' travels to central and southern Italy, where this grape variety originates.
Montepulciano d'Adelaide is an Australian expression of this Italian variety. The Amadio Vineyard, grown at 300 metres elevation, at Kersbrook in the Adelaide Hills provides fruit each year.
In some vintages, the Pollux Vineyard in McLaren Vale is also tapped. Significantly lower at 175 metres altitude, its fruit ripens earlier with more tannin and lower acidity.
Violet with red hues, Mr. Riggs Generation Series Montepulciano d'Adelaide is full bodied with earthy, spicy notes and a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
