Granite Pinot Noir
Wine
Mayer Granite Pinot Noir is sourced from a single vineyard in the Upper Yarra Valley, sited in sandy granitic soils that are a rarity in the region.
The grapes are fermented with natural yeasts. Following several weeks on skins, the wine is transferred to French oak to mature for roughly one year. Like all Mayer wines, it is neither fined nor filtered before bottling.
Crimson purple, Mayer Granite Pinot Noir has red fruit flavours and firm tannins with a touch of minerality. Cellaring potential is seven years.
