Dadds Block Primitivo
Wine
Massena Dadds Block Primitivo is grown on a gentle southern slope at Moppa in the Barossa Valley, planted to vines whose cuttings were sourced from Puglia in Italy.
Primitivo – the Italian synonym for Zinfandel – fruit is hand harvested and delivered to the winery in whole clusters. It is destemmed but not crushed into seasoned wooden vats where fermentation starts naturally.
After 10 days on skins with gentle pump overs, the wine is basket pressed for maturation. Bottling occurs without fining or filtration.
Deep red purple, Massena Dadds Block Primitivo has lifted aromatic complexity with savoury flavours and soft, round tannins. Cellaring potential is five years.
