The Sydney Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine
Leconfield The Sydney Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon represents the finest parcel of Leconfield fruit. It is selected from 1982 and 1984 estate plantings on Coonawarra's famous terra rossa soils.
Fermentation takes place in a small oak vat with manual pump overs to gently extract flavours from the skins. The wine is pressed before it reaches sugar dryness.
The ferment is then completed in new French oak hogsheads, where it also begins maturation. The wine receives several rackings before it is transferred to seasoned French oak hogsheads to complete its oak ageing.
A true reserve wine, The Sydney Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is bottle aged for 2-3 years before release. It is an homage to Leconfield founder Sydney Hamilton.
Crimson red, Leconfield The Sydney Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers great length of flavour with dark fruit notes, fine French oak and silky tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
