Amery Vineyard Block 6 Shiraz
Wine
Kay Brothers Amery Vineyard Block 6 Shiraz draws from some of McLaren Vale's finest Shiraz plantings, established in 1892 with cuttings from Hardy's famous Tintara Vineyard.
The fruit is handpicked, destemmed and crushed. It is open fermented in small batches, gently hand plunged twice daily to nurture the unique characters of the site.
After around 10 days on skins the wine is basket pressed in a heritage 1928 press, resulting in cleaner juice and softer tannins. It then sent to 40% new French and American oak and placed in cool, stone walled cellars to develop.
Deep ruby purple, Kay Brothers Amery Vineyard Block 6 Shiraz is full bodied with layers of concentrated dark berry flavours with slowly building fine tannins.
It is the top Kay Brothers wine. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
