Single Site Coal River Valley Pinot Noir
Wine
Dalrymple Single Site Coal River Valley Pinot Noir draws from a single vineyard in the Coal River Valley, a region ideal for Pinot Noir.
The area is characterized by low rainfall and warm, dry conditions. Basalt over dolerite soils retain moisture, allowing the vines to draw from them during the drier months. Cool nights provide balance to the warm days.
Most of the fruit is destemmed, the rest left as whole bunches. Natural yeasts are used and the must is plunged 2-3 times daily. Once pressed, the wine matures for nine months in French oak barrels, one third new.
Deep crimson, Dalrymple Single Site Coal River Valley Pinot Noir has fleshy dark fruits and fine spice from the whole bunches, with lifted acidity to finish. Cellaring potential is six years.
