Ferrous Pinot Noir

Kooyong Ferrous Pinot Noir is sourced from the low yielding Ferrous Block. True to its name, the site is abundant in ironstone pebbles, creating intense, tannic wines.

The fruit is handpicked and fermented with ambient yeasts in a large concrete tank. A portion of the grapes are included as whole bunches.

The wine is then pressed and racked to French oak barrels, one third new, for natural malolactic fermentation and 14 months of maturation. At bottling, there is no fining or filtration.

Pale red, Kooyong Ferrous Pinot Noir has a core of brambly red fruit flavours cut with savoury, gravelly tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
