Farr Rising Saignée Rosé
Wine
By Farr Farr Rising Saignée Rosé is the distinct label of Nick Farr, son of winery founder Gary Farr. It is drawn from estate grown grapes picked at optimal ripeness.
Pinot Noir fruit is crushed for fermentation. It remains in tank on skins until it attains the right colour for Rosé.
The free run juice is then bled off to barrel. This is where the wine style Saignée, technically meaning 'to bleed game meat or poultry', gets its name.
The juice wild ferments in seasoned French oak at cool temperatures. It sees full malolactic fermentation. After 10 months in barrel the wine is filtered and bottled.
Salmon pink, By Farr Farr Rising Saignée Rosé is a dry Rosé style, yet with varietal sweetness and flavour. Cellaring potential is two years. Best drunk young.
