Tussie Mussie Pinot Noir
Wine
Quealy Tussie Mussie Pinot Noir is draws from a hand selected portion of the Tussie Mussie Vineyard at Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula.
Unlike Quealy's other Pinot Noir vineyards, Tussie Mussie's fruit is the modern 777 clone of Pinot Noir grafted onto Phylloxera resistant rootstock.
The fruit is destemmed and typically kept as whole berries for fermentation, though in some vintages certain parcels are crushed. After several weeks resting on skins, the free run portion of the wine is matured in seasoned oak barrels.
The barrels are tasted often throughout maturation, and only a select few are chosen for the final blend.
Deep crimson, Quealy Tussie Mussie Pinot Noir is velvety with bright cherry notes and earthy undertones. Cellaring potential is five years.
