The First Clare Valley Riesling
Wine
Naked Run The First Clare Valley Riesling was the first wine produced under the Naked Run label. It draws from a single site at Sevenhill in the heart of the Clare Valley.
The vineyard is situated at 475 metres above sea level, grown in red grey loams over sandstone and shale that impart minerality to the final wine. The site is machine harvested at night when the fruit is at its coolest.
At the winery, the fruit is promptly processed to minimize skin contact. Only the free run juice is kept, cold settled and racked for cool fermentation. The juice ferments until dry, then is stabilized.
The wine is left on yeast lees for three months before it is filtered for bottling.
Pale straw, Naked Run The First Clare Valley Riesling has citrus flavours at the fore, a steely acid backbone and minerality. Cellaring potential is seven years.
