Block 6 Chardonnay
Wine
Hay Shed Hill Block 6 Chardonnay is grown on a steep, south facing slope that creates a cool climate ideal for quality Chardonnay. The vines, planted in 1975, produce tiny yields of fruit.
Only the best free run component of juice is used. Fermentation occurs in French oak barrels, around one third new, followed by 10 months of maturation. There is no lees stirring or malolactic fermentation to highlight the pure fruit expression of the vineyard.
Very pale green, Hay Shed Hill Block 6 Chardonnay has vibrant fruit flavours with old vine complexity and restrained mineral character. Cellaring potential is five years.
