The Steeple Shiraz
Wine
Yalumba The Steeple Shiraz is drawn from a block of old vines close to Light Pass on the floor of the Barossa Valley. The vines were planted in 1919 on well drained soils.
Wild yeasts initiate fermentation, building complexity in the wine. The skins are plunged regularly to extract colour, tannin and flavour.
After fermentation, the wine matures for 15 months in one fifth new barriques originating from the Troncais forest and coopered by the Tonnellerie Sylvain cooperage, both in France.
Deep purple, Yalumba The Steeple Shiraz has a silken texture, ample dark berry flavours and earthy tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
