Materne Shiraz
Wine
St Hallett Materne Shiraz takes its name from a single vineyard on the banks of a tree-lined creek that runs through the Greenock township, located in the north-western hills of the Barossa.
The Materne family has four generations of grape growing history in Greenock. Their experience, combined with the district's diverse soils and greater elevation, produces richly flavoured Shiraz.
The winemaking is tailored to each parcel of fruit. The philosophy of 'minimal intervention, maximum attention' is used to reveal the textures, depth and diversity of Barossa Shiraz.
The wine matures in French oak, typically one third new.
Dark red purple, St Hallett Materne Shiraz has a unique minty perfume that belies bright, concentrated black fruit flavours, a robust tannin structure and long finish.
A perfect balance of richness and vibrancy. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
