Willow Creek Vineyard O'Leary Block Pinot Noir
Wine
Rare Hare Willow Creek Vineyard O'Leary Block Pinot Noir is sourced from the oldest vines on the Willow Creek property, named after its original viticulturalist Robbie O'Leary.
Planted in 1989 and fastidiously hand tended from vineyard to harvest, the O'Leary Block consistently produces intensely flavoured and structured Pinot Noir. This lends itself to minimal intervention in the winery.
The fruit is fermented in small open fermenters, predominantly as whole bunches which yields greater complexity in the wine.
After four weeks on skins, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels to age for a total of 15 months. It is racked only twice: once early in maturation and once at bottling.
Medium bright red, Rare Hare Willow Creek Vineyard O'Leary Block Pinot Noir is driven by intense red fruit and spice flavours, with silky, purposeful tannins.
Available in very limited supply. Cellaring potential is seven years.
