Double Take Malbec
Wine
Bleasdale Double Take Malbec is made with the finest parcel of Langhorne Creek Malbec. It is Bleasdale's ultimate expression of the variety.
Double Take Malbec was first produced in 2010 to celebrate the winery's 160th anniversary. Their history with the variety goes back to the late 1800s, and in 1961 they became the region's first producer of a Malbec table wine.
The fruit is destemmed to open fermenters for pre-ferment maceration. During fermentation the juice is pumped over up to four times daily.
After 10 days on skins the wine is drained, pressed and settled for 24 hours. It is then racked to seasoned French oak puncheons for malolactic fermentation and 11 months of maturation.
The two best barrels are selected for blending and bottling. It is released only in exceptional vintages.
Deep purple crimson, Bleasdale Double Take Malbec is full bodied with powerful dark fruit flavours and firm tannins. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
