Stockhausen Shiraz
Wine
Briar Ridge Stockhausen Shiraz is a blend of the estate Dairy Hill and Red Hill Blocks at Mount View, Hunter Valley. The blocks sit on either side of the vineyard, facing each other.
The fruit from the two blocks is destemmed separately into open fermenters. Each is fermented with a cultured yeast strain specifically chosen to promote fruit flavour and individual site expression.
Post ferment the wine is racked to large format French oak barrels. It matures for 18 months before specific barrels are selected and blended to tank. There is light fining and filtration before bottling.
Deep crimson, Briar Ridge Stockhausen Shiraz is medium bodied and supple with concentrated fruit flavours and fine, silky tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
