Hill Block Chardonnay
Wine
Lake's Folly Hill Block Chardonnay is handpicked from a small block of vines grown in heavy clay soils at the top of the estate vineyard in the Hunter Valley.
This wine differs from Lake's Folly Chardonnay not in quality but in taste. In years where the unique mineral flavours of this single site are particularly evident, the wine is bottled separately.
The fruit is barrel fermented and aged on lees in larger format French oak, one third new. There is no malolactic fermentation, preserving the crisp qualities of the wine.
Golden yellow, Lake's Folly Hill Block Chardonnay is silky and rounded with elegant fruit flavours and a persistent finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
