Helmut Konecsny established Rochford in the Yarra Valley in 2002. Less than an hour's drive from Melbourne on the Maroondah Highway, Rochford's name is synonymous with innovative events and tourism as much as its wines.
Rochford has three diverse Yarra Valley vineyards. Plantings of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon predominate. Vineyard management centres around balance and sustainability, keeping yields low and farming inputs as organic as possible. At Rochford they believe it all comes down to the fruit: the meeting point of the vineyard and winery. They follow the Burgundian maxim that 'you don't make wine; you merely accompany it from vine to bottle'.
Rochford's Single Vineyard range leads, each wine depicting a strong sense of place. The Premier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay stand out. The Estate range delivers quality at an affordable price.
