Streicker Ironstone Block Old Vine Chardonnay

Streicker Ironstone Block Old Vine Chardonnay is drawn from the Ironstone Vineyard in the heart of Wilyabrup. It is one of Margaret River's oldest vineyards.

The block's tight vine spacing promotes healthy competition for nutrients in the soil. The result is intensely flavoured fruit. All the grapes are handpicked, then chilled.

The fruit is whole bunch pressed to retain freshness and cultivate texture. Its juice is cold settled and racked, leaving only the most delicate grape solids. Fermentation occurs in new, second and third use French oak.

Only one third of the wine sees malolactic fermentation, balancing richness with pure fruit and acidity. The wine is aged in barrel for nine months with fortnightly lees stirring.

Pale straw, Streicker Ironstone Block Old Vine Chardonnay has fresh stone fruit flavours with spicy oak and a structured mineral finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
