Streicker Bridgeland Block Syrah
Wine
Streicker Bridgeland Block Syrah is from the estate's Bridgeland Vineyard at Karridale in Margaret River. The grapes are handpicked in two separate passes, each vinified separately.
The fruit is destemmed but not crushed, preserving natural fruit aromas and allowing slow extraction of flavour and tannin. Some of the stalks are added back to the ferment.
Fermentation begins at cold temperatures with pump overs twice daily. After one week, the juice is gently separated from the skins and allowed to finish fermenting in one third new Burgundian style oak barrels.
The two parcels remain separate for 14 months of maturation before blending, clarification and bottling.
Deep purple red, Streicker Bridgeland Block Syrah has a complex medley of fine tannins, savoury texture and spice, with a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is eight years.
