Wine

Murdoch Hill The Tilbury Chardonnay draws fruit from a selection of vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, mostly high altitude sites in the Piccadilly Valley with the remainder in Lobethal.

It is named after a type of horse drawn carriage, open in construction with two large wheels making it light, fast and dangerous.

Part of Murdoch Hill's Artisan range, the wine is made in small batches using a minimalistic approach. Handpicked grapes are part whole berry and whole bunch pressed for fermentation in seasoned French oak.

Partial malolactic fermentation follows. A touch of lees stirring adds complexity and depth while allowing the wine to display the qualities of its vineyard.

Straw green, Murdoch Hill The Tilbury Chardonnay is light and lifted with citrus and green apple flavours, a textural minerality and lively acidity. Cellaring potential is five years.
