Wine
Murdoch Hill Syrah is grown on an estate block near the township of Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills. Its east facing slope protects the vines from the harsh afternoon sun.
The grapes, mostly destemmed with some kept as whole bunches, are open fermented with wild yeasts. Gentle pump overs and plunging ensure the fruit retains its freshness. Once pressed the wine matures in predominantly seasoned French oak.
Rich crimson, Murdoch Hill Syrah is medium bodied with juicy berry flavours, cool climate spice, cranberry acidity and slaty tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
