Chardonnay
Wine
McLeish Estate Chardonnay is sourced from the estate vineyard at Pokolbin in the lower Hunter Valley.
The vines, planted on friable red duplex loams in 1985, are crop thinned to ensure they produce fruit with pure, bright flavours. The grapes are hand harvested.
The wine is inspired by the Chardonnays of Chablis in the Burgundy region of France. It is made in a lightly oaked style, fermented and matured in seasoned French oak barrels. After 10 months in oak the wine is bottled.
Bright quartz green, McLeish Estate Chardonnay has vibrant stone fruit flavours, finely woven oak and a crisp citrus finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
