Cabernet Sauvignon

Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon was the first red wine produced in Margaret River. Made every year since its inaugural vintage in 1972, it is the signature Vasse Felix Cabernet.

The fruit is drawn from premier sections of Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the northern coastal reaches of Margaret River. Cooling ocean breezes and ancient gravel loams produce fruit of pure varietal character.

The parcels of fruit from each vineyard section are fermented individually using wild yeasts. Extended maceration on skins and traditional oxidative handling are used to define the personality of each batch.

Remaining separate, the parcels are pressed and matured in French oak barrels, around half new. After 18 months the final blend is assembled, including portions of Malbec and Petit Verdot to complement the Cabernet profile.

Deep garnet, Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon is intensely fragrant in style with succulent fruit flavours, silky texture and long, fine tannins. Elegant yet powerful, its perfume lingers on the dry finish.
