Wine

Torbreck The Pict is a single vineyard Mataro sourced from vines planted in 1927 on the site of an old quarry in northern Greenock. With a nod to the winery's Celtic ancestry, it is named for the late Iron Age people who settled in Scotland.

The handpicked fruit is destemmed into a single cement vat where it spends eight days before being gravity drained and basket pressed. The juice is then racked to half new French barriques for natural malolactic fermentation.

Following 24 months of ageing, the best barrels are selected. The final wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

Inky garnet, Torbreck The Pict has fresh dark fruit flavours, earthy characters, minerally tannins and balanced acidity. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
