La Maline Shiraz
Wine
Spinifex La Maline Shiraz is selected from grower vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The low yielding, old vine vineyards are situated 350-500 metres in altitude. Vine age averages 65 years.
The handpicked fruit is cooled overnight. It is wild fermented in open stainless steel and large format oak with partial whole bunch immersion. A small portion of Viognier skins is added for aromatic lift.
Élevage in French oak for 18 months is then commenced. Élevage is a traditional approach that takes the wine from its raw state after fermentation to bottling. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Brilliant blue garnet, Spinifex La Maline Shiraz is opulent yet finely structured with dark fruit flavours and perfect balance.
An outstanding high altitude Barossa Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
