Half Dry Riesling
Wine
Robert Stein Half Dry Riesling is grown on the bottom section of the winery's Riesling block in Mudgee. It is usually the first picked of all Robert Stein's Riesling.
The fruit is handpicked in the early morning and whole bunch pressed. Its slow, cool fermentation in tank is stopped early, leaving up to 15 grams per litre of residual sugar. The wine then rests on lees in tank with occasional stirring.
In some vintages, the final blend includes a naturally fermented portion that has gathered complexity in older French oak hogsheads.
Pale straw, Robert Stein Half Dry Riesling has lemon lime characters and juicy sweetness balanced by crisp, clean acidity. Cellaring potential is seven years.
