Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir
Wine
Michael Hall Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir is sourced from the Mawson Road Vineyard at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills.
The vines, a mixture of Pinot Noir clones, are grown at 560 metres elevation on sandy loams over clay. The grapes are handpicked from a steep, south facing slope.
Fermentation occurs with wild yeasts and significant whole bunch inclusion. Once pressed, the wine matures for 11 months in new and seasoned French oak. It is bottled without fining.
Pale red, Michael Hall Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir shows an interplay of red fruit flavours, spice and soft, powdery tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
