Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir
Wine
Hardys Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir is a blend of two vineyards from different districts in Tasmania – the Derwent Valley and Cranbrook – each bringing its distinctive character to the wine.
The wine takes the name of Thomas Mayfield Hardy's wife, Eileen, the family matriarch and first lady of Australian wine.
Hand harvested from low yielding vines, the grapes are destemmed and wild fermented with some whole bunches. The wine then undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is matured in French oak.
The crafting of this Pinot Noir is unashamedly Burgundian, using different techniques to fully express the fruit and the vineyard.
Vibrant red, Hardys Eileen Hardy Pinot Noir has sweet dark fruit flavours, mineral acid drive and impeccable length. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
