Wine
Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz is the flagship wine, sourced from century old Barossa Valley vines. It is named in tribute to Meschach William Burge who made the family's first Barossa wine in 1865.
Due to the age of the vines, the winemaking is kept simple. The handpicked fruit is crushed and fermented on skins. Pump overs are performed 2-3 times daily, becoming fewer as fermentation proceeds.
The wine is basket pressed, settled and transferred to French and American oak to mature for 20 months. The Meschach heads the Shadrach and Abednego in the Grant Burge trio of premium reds.
Inky purple red, Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz is powerful yet beautifully balanced, with rich red berry flavours. Its supple tannins lead to a refined, structured finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
