Estate Pinot Noir
Wine
Domaine A Estate Pinot Noir is grown in a small plot on the highest slope of the Stoney Vineyard, the first vineyard in Tasmania's Coal River Valley.
The small, concentrated grapes are picked from close planted, low yielding vines. The wine is a blend of several clones including MV6, 777 and Pommard. The yield is so low that it takes two vines to make a single bottle.
The grapes are open fermented in small batches, with regular racking, hand plunging and extended time on lees. The wine matures in seasoned French oak for 18 months and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Deep ruby, Domaine A Estate Pinot Noir is savoury with rich dark berry flavours and lithe round tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
