Terroirs of the Barossa Ebenezer District Shiraz
Wine
Château Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Ebenezer District Shiraz is one of a series that showcases the combined effects of site, soil and climate – known as terroir – on the vine and its fruit.
The Ebenezer District Shiraz is sourced from red brown sandy loam soils at 278 metres elevation in Ebenezer, the northernmost district of the Barossa Valley.
The fruit is wild fermented and basket pressed. The basket press, imported from France, is the Rolls Royce of basket pressing, it ensures the grapes express the unique character of their place of origin.
Moved to barrel for malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak for 18 months.
Deep red, Château Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Ebenezer District Shiraz has ripe red fruit flavours, refined structure and a minerally tannin finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
