Balnaves of Coonawarra Chardonnay is produced from the estate vineyard at the southern end of the Coonawarra terra rossa strip. The fruit is handpicked from the Avery and Old Blocks.

The grapes are whole bunch pressed and barrel fermented in French oak. Typically half the ferments are wild, the remainder with inoculated yeast. The wine matures on lees for 11 months before bottling.

Pale straw, Balnaves of Coonawarra Chardonnay has stone fruit and citrus flavours, fine balance and striking length. Cellaring potential is five years.
