Carrodus Pinot Noir
Wine
Yarra Yering Carrodus Pinot Noir is a two barrel blend, one barrel from Yarra Yering's original 1969 planted Pinot Noir and the other from its 1984 plantings.
The handpicked grapes are destemmed without crushing to retain whole berries. Stalks are added to give the wine more lift. Twice daily hand plunging for gentle extraction follows.
Malolactic fermentation occurs in new and seasoned French oak. The wine matures for 14 months before bottling via gravity without filtration.
Deep crimson, Yarra Yering Carrodus Pinot Noir is a potent wine with dark fruit flavours and tannins that last for an age. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
