Cornelius Airds Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Scotchmans Hill Cornelius Airds Vineyard Chardonnay draws from the Airds Vineyard on Victoria's Bellarine Peninsula, grown in black vertosol soils derived from basalt.
The fruit is handpicked and whole bunch pressed. The free run juice, along with a considered level of solids, is transferred to new and one year old French barriques where it is wild yeast fermented.
Maturation in barrel follows. During the first six months, the yeast lees are stirred monthly.
Bright straw, Scotchmans Hill Cornelius Airds Vineyard Chardonnay has flinty and white stone fruit flavours with a spicy oak finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
