Belford Vineyard Semillon
Wine
Tyrrell's Belford Vineyard Semillon is sourced from the winery's northernmost Hunter Valley vineyard, Belford. The light, sandy soils are the consistency of talcum powder.
The vines, planted in 1933, are hand harvested in the cool of the morning. Their fruit is lightly crushed and pressed prior to a relatively cool ferment. The wine spends minimal time on lees before being bottled early.
The wine then aged in bottle for several years, developing fuller, richer characters prior to release.
Bright straw, Tyrrell's Belford Vineyard Semillon has vibrant aromas, rich aged complexity and soft, clean acidity. Cellaring potential is five years from release.
