Hillside Vineyard Shiraz Roussanne
Wine
Torbreck Hillside Vineyard Shiraz Roussanne is sourced from the historic Hillside property at Lyndoch in the south-western corner of the Barossa Valley.
The Hillside Vineyard's first Shiraz vines were planted in 1850. Torbreck acquired the property in 2002 and began resurrecting its old vines and planting new ones, including Roussanne.
Once the juice has been gently whole bunch pressed from Roussanne grapes, their skins are added to the Shiraz and the varieties are co-fermented. The mixture is typically comprised of 95% Shiraz and 5% Roussanne.
Once pressed, the wine is sent to a seasoned 4,500 litre French oak barrel to mature. The barrel's size and age preserve the wine's vibrancy.
Inky purple, Torbreck Hillside Vineyard Shiraz Roussanne has generous dark fruit flavours, velvety tannins and firm acidity Cellaring potential is 10 years.
