Wine
John Duval Wines Integro Cabernet Shiraz is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Stonegarden Vineyard in the Eden Valley and a small, exceptional parcel of Barossa Shiraz.
Integro is Latin: to integrate or make whole. The wine is John Duval's contribution to the distinctly Australian tradition of weaving Cabernet and Shiraz together.
The Stonegarden Vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in Australia. Its earliest Cabernet plantings are estimated to date back to the 1890s, meaning that the vines are some of the oldest grown on their own roots in the world.
The Cabernet and Shiraz components are fermented separately on skins in small, open top stainless steel fermenters. The ferments receive twice daily pump overs to extract colour, flavour and tannin.
The Cabernet matures in French oak hogsheads, 50% new. After 18 months, it is blended with the Shiraz component and bottled, where it develops for two years before release.
Deep purple, John Duval Wines Integro Cabernet Shiraz has a vibrant array of blue fruit flavours, an elegant tannin framework and lasting length.
Made only in outstanding vintages. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
