Budenberg Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wine
CRFT Wines Budenberg Vineyard Pinot Noir is grown on the Budenberg Vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley, situated at 540 metres elevation in clay loam and shale soils.
The fruit is handpicked and transported to CRFT's Carey Gully winery. After cold soaking, it is wild yeast fermented in open tanks. A quarter of the grapes are included as whole bunches.
The ferments are gently hand plunged. At sugar dryness, they are pressed to new and seasoned French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and 10 months of maturation.
Crimson purple, CRFT Wines Budenberg Vineyard Pinot Noir has tightly wound red fruit flavours and ironstone minerality. Cellaring potential is seven years.
