Meta Mataro
Wine
Schwarz Wine Company Meta Mataro (sometimes known as Mourvèdre) is sourced from vineyards across the Barossa Valley including Moppa, Vine Vale and Bethany.
The fruit from each site is fermented separately with wild yeasts, some parcels with a proportion of whole bunches. The ferments spend 6-24 days on skins with regular foot stomping and pump overs.
Each batch is pressed to tank where it remains until blending. No oak is used for maturation. The final wine is blended without fining or filtration.
Deep red, Schwarz Wine Company Meta Mataro is a dark, spicy wine with blackberry and red stone fruit flavours. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
