Adam's Rib The Red

Castagna Adam's Rib The Red is an unusual blend of Nebbiolo and Syrah (Shiraz), added to the winery's repertoire by the founder's son Adam Castagna.
The fruit is sourced from the younger vines on Castagna's vineyard at Beechworth, sometimes alongside parcels from other growers. Most is crushed as whole bunches while some is destemmed prior.
After wild yeast fermentation, the wine is basket pressed. It sees little or no new oak during maturation and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Deep red, Castagna Adam's Rib The Red is medium bodied and textural with berry flavours and a peppery finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
