Cornelius Strathallan Vineyard Syrah
Wine
Scotchmans Hill Cornelius Strathallan Vineyard Syrah is made from singled out parcels of handpicked fruit from the Strathallan Vineyard on the Bellarine Peninsula.
Around one quarter of the fruit is retained as whole bunches while the remainder is destemmed. It ferments with wild yeasts in open fermenters, with daily hand plunging.
Once pressed, the wine is aged in new and one year old French oak barrels, also seeing natural malolactic fermentation. After 18 months it is fined, filtered and bottled.
Deep purple, Scotchmans Hill Strathallan Vineyard Syrah has dark fruit flavours with a peppery, smoky oak finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
