Nitschke Block Shiraz
Wine
Schwarz Wine Company Nitschke Block Shiraz is the founding Schwarz wine, first made in 2001 when Jason Schwarz purchased a small parcel of fruit from his parents' Nitschke Block.
Planted in 1968 at Bethany near the base of the eastern Barossa Range, the Nitschke Block's loamy soils over brown and red clays produce concentrated, driven wines.
The fruit is handpicked and wild yeast fermented with a proportion of whole bunches. After up to 30 days on skins, the wine is pressed to new and seasoned French oak barrels to mature.
Deep purple, Schwarz Wine Company Nitschke Block Shiraz has rich dark fruit flavours, mouth coating tannins and ample texture. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
