Pooley Pinot Noir is sourced from several sites in the Coal River Valley in southern Tasmania, including both of Pooley's estate vineyards.
A small percentage of the fruit is included as whole clusters for fermentation. The wine matures in French oak, predominantly seasoned. The final blend includes declassified barrels of the single vineyard Cooinda Vale and Butcher's Hill Pinot Noirs.
Bright ruby, Pooley Pinot Noir has expressive red fruit flavours, fine subtle tannins and a long spicy finish. Cellaring potential is seven years.
