Eden Valley Syrah
Wine
Michael Hall Eden Valley Syrah is made with fruit hand harvested from the Naimanya Vineyard in the Flaxman Valley township of the Eden Valley.
At 520 metres elevation it is one of the highest Shiraz vineyards in South Australia. Its soils are sandy loam, gravel and quartz over clay.
Most of the fruit is destemmed for fermentation, with a small portion retained as whole bunches. After around one month on skins, the wine is matured in French oak barrels for 20 months. It is bottled without filtration.
Carmine red, Michael Hall Eden Valley Syrah has red and blue fruit flavours, chalky tannins and a savoury edge. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
