Bloody Hill Villages Pinot Noir
Wine
Mayer Bloody Hill Villages Pinot Noir is the work of Rivar Ferguson-Mayer, son of Timo Mayer. The fruit handpicked from Panton Hill in the Yarra Valley.
Diverting from Mayer's usual winemaking style, the wine does not see any whole bunch fermentation. Instead the fruit is destemmed before undergoing wild yeast fermentation on skins over several weeks.
The wine is matured in oak barrels for just a few months before bottling. There is no fining or filtration.
Bright red, Mayer Bloody Hill Villages Pinot Noir is fresh and fruit driven in style with red fruits, bright acidity and a finish of fine tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
