Belford Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Tyrrell's Belford Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from a dry grown vineyard at Belford in the northern Hunter Valley. It grows on light, sandy soils of almost talcum powder consistency.
The fruit is handpicked and sorted in the vineyard. On arrival at the winery, the grapes are immediately basket pressed. The juice is cold settled in stainless steel for 2-3 days.
Once fermentation has begun, it is transferred to French oak barrels to complete the process and mature on lees for eight months. There is no malolactic fermentation.
Pale straw, Tyrrell's Belford Vineyard Chardonnay has well balanced fruit and oak flavours with grainy texture and lively acidity. Cellaring potential is five years.
